AAII Baltimore meeting
This month's American Association of Independent Investors/Baltimore Chapter meeting will be on "The Case for Roth Conversion". The speaker will be Matt Carbone, regional VP of Retirement Wealth Strategies.

There are a lot of different opinions on this topic, will be interesting to see what this guy recommends.
ReplyDeleteIts complicated. At first everyone thought it was a no-brainer. Then they crunched the numbers and found it didn't make any difference in a lot of instances. Finally, financial planners started looking at all the little nuances where it can negatively affect people - increase Medicare premiums etc.
ReplyDeleteSo I think today we are at the point where we understand that it can be a fairly complex analysis.
To provide additional entertainment there are those seeking, as always, to exploit the financially illiterate - do a Roth conversion and put it into an annuity etc.
